Band of Misfits, Peter Lord Wreck-It Ralph, Rich Moore A civil war — Northern vs. Southern California, with a pedigreed clan battling their upstart cousins — reaches its climax Sunday night. All the pillars of American civic righteousness are here: the YWCA choir, the Boy Scouts, the 4-H club, the church-sponsored floats, even the pom-pom girls strutting their stuff to the strains of Happy Days Are Here Again. It could, really, be any All-American small town putting on an Independence Day parade on any village green. Except that this truly is, in the strict anthropological sense, a village, and the green here is really, really green.
“I never knew but one artist who could resist the temptation to see things as they ought to be, rather than as they are, and that’s Tom Eakins.” Walt Whit man was one of the few people who had anything good to say about the cold-eyed and ruthlessly honest Philadelphia realist. Aside from the poet, whom Ea kins portrayed in 1888 as a twinkling old sage, few people could stand having their character laid bare with the visceral objectivity that Eakins brought to portraiture.
Have 30-somethings done something to offend the pop culture gods? Because lately, they can’t seem to stop roasting us. And to tide us over as we await that indignity, here’s Netflix with an ostensibly steamy, actually terrible drama about a suburban housewife haunted by the carefree, promiscuous life she lived a decade ago as a music-loving party girl in New York.

Though you can't see his face yet on AMC's "The Walking Dead," you probably know Hurst for his previous roles on "Outsiders," "Bates Motel," and as Opie on FX's "Sons of Anarchy." INSIDER spoke with Hurst about how he landed the role of Beta on "TWD," bringing the character's iconic look to the show; Beta's complicated relationship with Alpha and his mask; and whether or not we'll ever see his character ride a motorcycle on the show.

When asked if her new album is about the actor, she replied, “Yes, I'm not going to lie.” The singer also mentioned that her new music got the approval of the actor, who is now married to make-up artist Naiyana Garth.
