Charlie Sasscer planted corn in various locations around the grounds of Great Mills High School as a senior prank last spring, SoMdNews.com reports. Administrators began to notice the stalks coming out of the ground in strange places around campus in May and June, and finally tweeted a photo of the plants asking if anyone knew who was responsible.

It was an unlikely setting for social reform: an auditorium full of screaming, swooning young girls in plaid skirts and boys in chinos. The project was designed as a celebration of “teenage” music, with fans at the live event at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium (and, later, screening the footage in movie theaters) punching ballots for their favorite performers. The Teenage Awards Music International would kick off an ongoing series of shows to be broadcast on one of the major television networks; proceeds would benefit music scholarships for young people around the world.

The meme evolved from a video of a group of WoW players planning a raid when one player, known as Leeroy Jenkins, went rogue and spoiled the raid. The video, uploaded in May 2005, went viral before “going viral” was really even a thing. It was alluded to on TV shows including My Name is Earl and in movies like Wreck-it-Ralph.

Morales was arrested in 2011 in Galveston, TX after a drug-sniffing dog (narc!) detected pot when he was pulled over for speeding. Police then found diagrams of two indoor pot-growing operations and a plethora of marijuana seeds. When police raided his house, they seized 1,000 marijuana plants and 9,000 rounds of ammunition for an assortment of 27 weapons — including a grenade launcher, because McGruff must have lots of enemies.

In April, model Leomie Anderson was named the newest Victoria's Secret Angel. As BuzzFeed has pointed out, Anderson is the first black British model to join the brand's elite group of Angels. The 26-year-old model previously walked in four fashion shows for the lingerie brand, and has modeled for designers like Marc Jacobs, Fenty Beauty, and Moschino. She got her start at the age of 14, after she was discovered by an agent while walking home from school.
