Therapy has always seemed like a waste of time to me because you’re only talking about yourself to one person. Besides, it’s obnoxious to complain about all the psychological damage my parents caused me when I’m well aware that I caused them far more.
But when I heard that a ton of successful writers, actors and producers in Los Angeles were getting career help from therapist Barry Michels and his mentor, psychiatrist Phil Stutz, I knew I had to see them.
From 2020 to 2022 they worked tirelessly through a pandemic. This year they deftly navigated their way through the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Throughout they faced and overcame an economic climate defined by ballooning inflation, soaring interest rates and the threat of a recession. And they seem to be bringing the business to a soft landing.
Who are they? They are Hollywood’s dealmakers, the smart and skilled individuals profiled by Variety every December.
The Barbie movie was meant to be for everyone. “If you love Barbie, this movie is for you,” the trailer for Warner Bros.’ summer blockbuster declares. “If you hate Barbie, this movie is for you.”
But with just weeks before the star-studded film about the titular doll was set to hit theaters, some in Southeast Asia have decided that it’s not for them.
It was announced in Vietnam on Monday that the cinematic distribution of Barbie would be banned over the display of a map that includes the “nine-dash line,” a disputed maritime border that China has controversially used to lay claim to virtually all of the South China Sea, even though it was rejected in 2016 by an international tribunal.
SAT scores will soon be measured by more than just a teenager’s math and verbal skills — the College Board is rolling out a new “adversity score” program that is intended to give universities a chance to gain a fuller picture of the applicant’s background.
But as several elite universities are already facing lawsuits over affirmative action admissions practices, some wonder how the new rule will be received by more affluent families who do not benefit from this new scoring.

Last month, the popular beauty blogger known as NikkieTutorials shared a video about the “power of makeup.” She said many people shame women who love makeup, claiming that they’re only wearing it to impress men or hide their insecurities.
In response to these critics, Nikkie decided to make one half of her face “full-on flame” and leave the other half “raw, unedited, nothing, me.”
In a post on Instagram, CEO Mo' Abudu shared the news. "We're thrilled to announce that our feature film, "A SUNDAY AFFAIR," earned a remarkable 9,500,000 ( Nine Million, Five Hundred Thousand) hours viewed, emerging as Nigeria's most-watched film in the first half of 2023," she said. The data is part of Netflix's "What We Watched: A Netflix Engagement Report," which going forward will be released twice each year. The Nigerian filmmaker also went on to thank the cast and crew of the feature title for the work that they did in producing it.
After several attempts to get into the University of Lagos, at age 18 she left the country altogether and settled in New York, a city that will bring her multiple creative opportunities. Her first university major was Economics, but it wasn't for her, so she switched to Theatre. For her strict father, Babatunji Olówófôyekù, a career as a performer was unacceptable. He had studied Economics and then Law, and became a Senior Advocate of Nigeria prominent enough to get his own Wikipedia page.

2. Mark 7:21-22; “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness.
