All the elements are there: a forgotten but fascinatingly tragic, true-life story about a world-changing medical discovery that saved the lives of millions; a large-cast, grand-scale production including dancers and onstage musicians; and Mark Rylance on stage in a no-hold-barred performance. Yet despite remarkably fierce energy from everyone involved, most particularly Rylance, the bio-drama “Dr. Semmelweis” ultimately proves more enervating than exciting. You would be forgiven for thinking that this play about a maverick, misunderstood savior in the middle of a public health crisis was a direct response to recent world events.
Back in January, Republican Presidential candidate Ted Cruz was caught on camera suggesting that voters might spank Hillary Clinton in the same way he would spank his 5-year-old daughter for lying. Accusing Clinton of lying about the Benghazi attack, Cruz said: “I’ll tell you in my house, if my daughter Catherine, the 5-year old, says something that she knows to be false, she gets a spanking. Well in America the voters have a way of administering a spanking.

Nearly a decade later, a four-part limited series adaptation of the acclaimed historical epic has arrived on Netflix.
The genius of Trino, which stands for the combination of their Tree and Merino materials , is that the fabric combines all the functionality you want in top-drawer underwear. Moisture-wicking? Check! Breathable? Check! Cooling? Ch-ch-check! Eucalyptus tree material in the fabric makes it cooling and breathable, while merino wool naturally wicks away moisture and provides a soft feel. Cotton is great for T-shirts, but when youre baking in the summer heat, cotton underwear can become a soggy situation (sweaty guys know this triggering feeling).

TIME May 22, 1972 12:00 AM EDT The auto industry has not yet achieved total recall, but on one type of car it is coming close. So far in the current model run, General Motors has built 560,000 Chevrolet Vegas—and called back 480,000 of them. Last week the latest Vega recall, of 350,000 cars, produced something unusual: it was caused by a flaw related to an anti-pollution device. The device is a solenoid, a part about the size of a flashlight battery that controls the engine’s idling speed.
